New Orleans, LA – On January 20-23, 2008, the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) hosted its biannual IAFF Ernest A. “Buddy” Mass Human Relations Conference in New Orleans, LA. Two members of the National Association of Hispanic Firefighters; Richard Gomez (Houston, TX), and Carlos Pacheco (Kansas City, KA) were elected to the IAFF Human Relations Committee.

The National Association of Hispanic Firefighters applauds the IAFF in its efforts to enhance human relations, diversity, and inclusion in the fire service. The IAFF continues to reach out to fire fighters, unifying our "many faces and many voices" as we continue to pursue "one dream and one union." “Together we can create a conducive environment for all people,” stated NAHF President Alberto Olmos.

The visions of the NAHF and the IAFF continue firmly aligned in our commitments to serving our firefighters and communities as a whole.
