NAHF Joins US Fire Administration in
"Smoking & Home Fires Campaign"

Washington D.C.--Executive Vice President of Public Relations, Lt. Raul Castillo joined US Fire Administrator Gregory B. Cade and IAFC Executive Director Mark W. Light in kicking off the new U.S. Fire Administration "Smoking & Home Fires Campaign".

The NAHF is helping to promote this new campaign in an effort to decrease the number of home fires which are smkoing related. These fires are all preventable and kill approximately 1,000 people every year. This new campaign aims to reduce the number of fire deaths among smokers and those who live with them.

We are urging smokers to Put it Out. All the Way. Every Time

NAHF Members Elected to
IAFF Human Relations Committee

New Orleans, LA – On January 20-23, 2008, the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) hosted its biannual IAFF Ernest A. “Buddy” Mass Human Relations Conference in New Orleans, LA. Two members of the National Association of Hispanic Firefighters; Richard Gomez (Houston, TX), and Carlos Pacheco (Kansas City, KA) were elected to the IAFF Human Relations Committee.

The National Association of Hispanic Firefighters applauds the IAFF in its efforts to enhance human relations, diversity, and inclusion in the fire service. The IAFF continues to reach out to fire fighters, unifying our "many faces and many voices" as we continue to pursue "one dream and one union." “Together we can create a conducive environment for all people,” stated NAHF President Alberto Olmos.

The visions of the NAHF and the IAFF continue firmly aligned in our commitments to serving our firefighters and communities as a whole.
